I followed all the steps for new users. I already had Ad-Aware which I ran, I ran CW Shredder (not present), and installed and ran SpyBot. SpyBot found and removed 2 things but didn't completely deal with 9 items found in Wild Tangents as I now get a rundll error message when I log in. What started all this is two "End Program" dialogs I get when I try to log off. Have checked and it occurs in all three user screens, started after networking two home computers and only occurs on this one. 1. End Program - TRd ww:C:\Program Files\2Wire\Ga..., 2. End Program - TRd ww:C:\ZONELA~1\...

Found the answer for myself at Computer Cops. This is a Total Recorder issue and the fix is clearly documented in their help topics; see Options, system settings, system tab, restrictions (bottom right of dialog box). Thanks anyway.

Welcome to Geeks to Go!

I'm glad you figured out your problem, but you have a few things that need to be removed from your system.

GO to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the following program:

Gamebar

Make sure you are disconnected from the Internet and that all programs and windows are closed. Put a checkmark next to the following entries, if present, and click "FIX CHECKED":

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapp.../search/ie.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://red.clientapp...//www.yahoo.com
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://red.clientapp...//www.yahoo.com
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapp.../search/ie.html
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://red.clientapp...//www.yahoo.com

O2 - BHO: Game Bar - {4E7BD74F-2B8D-469E-C0FF-FD69B994BD7D} - C:\PROGRA~1\GAMEBAR\gamebar.dll
O3 - Toolbar: Game Bar - {4E7BD74F-2B8D-469E-C0FF-FD69B994BD7D} - C:\PROGRA~1\GAMEBAR\gamebar.dll

Exit HiJackThis.

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following folder (in bold), if found, and DELETE it:
C:\Program Files\GAMEBAR

Post a new HiJackThis log.

I lost this, and it's taken me until now to find it. Thank you for your follow-up, and I will let you know when I've done as you suggested.

Okey-doke. Followed your directions and have re-started the computer. This computer serves to keep my husband and 5th grader off of my work-from-home computer. 5th grader is much enamored of Neopets and Runescape and knows the basic rules of on-line security, but is just as vulnerable to "silent" threats as most. I've also added SpyWare Blaster since 1st post and sincerely try to run AdAware weekly but sometimes it's ten or more days between scans, and also have Zone Alarm Security Suite with Antivirus. Enough raincoats? Anyway, one last query; should I be concerned about Wild Tangent stuff?

Thank you so much for your helpful suggestions, I really appreciate it.
