sound problems!

my speakers are plugged in but i can't get any sound! the all of my drivers are updated in device manager.
when i go to the sound and audio devices in says that i have no audio devices but he speakers are plugged into the right hole in the back.
to mke things worse i uninstalled the driver for the real-tek 97 audio what not. please help me!
