:whistling: I have had a few trojan horses and virus's removed. They seemed to be adware which run everytime I opened INterenet explorer.

So I ran AVG and it removed them. But I reckon that some .dll files were infected and removed. This has stopped Internet Explorer from accessing the web pages, even though we are connected.

I cannot reinstall IE6 because the exisitn version is not shown on Add/Remove programs, and it only allows you to install if the existing one is removed first. I cn't remove it.

Can U help?

Thanks

Did you check add / remove then add / remove windows components for IE (remove the tick, click apply, reboot, replace the tick, click apply)

Or

Items in blue which are underlined are clickable to give more information about the process

Click start then run, type prefetch then press enter, click edit then select all, right click any file then click delete, confirm delete

Click start, all programmes, accessories, system tools to run disc clean up

Click start, all programmes, accessories, system tools to run disc defragmenter

Click start then run, type sfc /scannow then press enter, you need the XP CD

Windows File Protection will show a blue onscreen progress bar, when the bar goes, reboot
