Winlogon.exe Error

For the past two weeks my computer (HP Pavilion laptop using Windows XP) shuts down at random and the blue screen of death comes up, I can't even read it because it shuts down so fast. When the computer restarts it says Winlogon.exe has ecnountered an error. I have tried to restore my system to an earlier time but I still have the same problem. Any help would be much appreciated
