Hi, got a dell dimension 5150 and my usb flash drive isn't recognised in My Computer
It is recognised in the Safely Remove Hardware window and in the Disk Management and also in cmd.exe when i type dir e:\
All other usb devices work fine
I have tried uninstalling the usb mass storage device and rebooting ... but it still doesn't work
Can someone tell me how to fix this problem

Some ideas :

The pen drive is faulty
Check the Device Manager for yellow exclamation mark

Some are not built to proper PnP standards.

Click on all drive letters it may be using an unusual one.
Click on green taskbar arrow to see if recognised

Try booting up with it already plugged in.
