That may be useful info. Let's see what you got running:

Please download and run hijackthis Do a scan and then save a log. Take the log and ATTACH IT (do not post) to your next post. In order to attach it, you will either need to change the .log extension to .txt, or you will have to put the log into a compressed (zipped) folder.

We do not like to post hijackthis logs in sections other than the malware forum as we do not want to encourage people to post malware issues in this forum.

I am not looking for malware. I am looking for what programs or combinations of programs might cause this behavior. If I notice any malware, I will redirect you to the malware forum.

Looks like it didn't attach correctly

You might have to put it into a zip (compressed) folder before you can attach it.

EDIT - ah, there we go. :whistling:

I'm back, just lost track of the topic momentarily. :whistling:

Go to Start --> Run and type msconfig and then press enter.

Make sure the first circle (next to Normal Startup) is selected. If not, change it and let me know you had to do that.

Now click on the Startup tab. Find the following entries and UNcheck them (the red words are what you will see at the end of the command catagory, if the first word doesn't match up):

NeroFilterCheck NeroCheck.exe
InCD InCD.exe

Reboot and try again. If no success, remove Zone Alarm and try again.

Let me know how it goes.

I did all that you asked above and still the same problem.
However i did go out today and bought some blank DVD+R and they work perfect.
Not sure why my DVD-R blanks won't work as i have always used the same brand and type.
Only thing i can think is i got a dodgy batch??

I really appreciate your time and effort computer whizz, thanks for everything! :whistling:

That's definately a possibility. Personally, I use Memorex. That is all I use. I don't use any other brand because that particular brand has never failed me.

I'm curious to see if another pack of those DVD-Rs from that same brand give different results or not. There's only one way to find out for sure.

Glad to be of assistance! :whistling:

Yeah i am tempted to buy some more of the same brand just to find out or maybe just stick to dvd+R.
