Hie. I'm having problems recently playing my online game Animaro. I'm using my hostel connection to play. The server is hosted in the U.S. while I'm in an Asian country (Singapore).

Since last week, I had not been able to connect to the game. I used to be able to play it on this hostel connection before this problem arises. I'm on a wireless connection.

My game's website : www.animaro.com

Is it due to the settings changed by my hostel?

Please find the attachment somehow useful in the problem solving.

My laptop specs :

OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600
OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation
System Name TOSHIBA-FA8C99F
System Manufacturer TOSHIBA
System Model Satellite L20
System Type X86-based PC
Processor x86 Family 6 Model 13 Stepping 8 GenuineIntel ~1729 Mhz
BIOS Version/Date TOSHIBA V1.30, 12/14/2005
SMBIOS Version 2.34
Total Physical Memory 512.00 MB
Available Physical Memory 114.15 MB
Total Virtual Memory 2.00 GB
Available Virtual Memory 1.96 GB
Page File Space 1.20 GB

For your information, I'm using a linksys wireless usb adapter, not my laptop wifi.

Thank you for your time and help.

Hello 17osm17 and welcome to G2G, :whistling:

Have you already followed the directions from the AnimaRO web site regarding this "known" issue:

1) Redownload the game files
2) Reinstall Sakray and everything else
3) Update Sakray
4) Install AnimaRO patch
5) Patch AnimaRO
6) If Steps 1-5 don't work, OPEN A SUPPORT TICKET!!! --> http://www.animaro.com/support/ <--

If you have not, please do so. If you have, and it has been determined that you indeed have a network problem please post back and let me know.

this is the reply i got from the GM,

"That's weird---if "telnet d.animaro.com 6900" is saying Connect failed, then you shouldn't be able to play at all.

There might be an internet connection problem between your ISP and ours, since you're all the way in Singapore. You might try asking your ISP if they can improve the routing to d.animaro.com but I'm not sure if they can do anything."

Although connection to the telnet on 6900, 7000 and 4501 failed, I was able to play quite often though occasionally i do have problem logging into the game. But after a few tries, i managed to get into the game. But recently, i totally couldnt log into the game. Is it due to my hostel's firewall or something ? What should i forward to the hostel management regarding this? such as asking them to unblock some ports?

The failed Ping testsd just means that ICMP has been turned off, at your Hostel's router. which could be why the Pingtimes in the game server aren't working right. As for the Correct Port(s), that need to be opened you will have to ask animaro.com that. I have never played that game and you sound far more knowledgable of it than myself. I have tried Googling it with no success and I even searched through allot of the animaro.com's forums for the ports, but they were not listed anywhere.

I would suggest contacting thier Support department for the Port(s) needed to be opened. Hope I was able to help.

I'm having a problem similar to that on a computer I am using in my second period class.
I live in America, so I doubt it's the same as the Singapore guy's. It worked just fine one day, refuses to connect the next few tries. And on my computer in my first period, it won't leave the setup screen. It just shows the setup screen, I click 'OK' or 'Cancel' and wham. It comes right back. In order to get it to leave the screen, I have to restart. Can anyone help? :whistling:
