DVD Shrink overcomes this problem by compressing or "shrinking" the data from your original DVD.

Basically they scan frames and only update the parts where something moved

Hmm, while we're on the same topic, ive also a few AVI files thar are about 3-400MB a piece, only 30 minutes of footage. Im not sure what theyre compressed under, but I can use videodub to find out. I was wondering if I can compress that any further..

You can try Quart in to a pint pot
At 25 cents a disc you could keep the quality at DVD and easily earn the 25 cents in the time it takes to convert / compress

Quart in to a pint pot = English saying for two in to one
You could put the files on to DVDR and then delete them from the drive

Also, I checked out that DVD shrink. The program looks great, but how would it handle series disks? Ive got a boxset of smallville, and was wondering how to extract the shows piece by piece and shrink them.

If it has copy protection then it isn't something we can look at

Then Nero would let you search for scenes and export them
