Cant create a partition

Hi all! First, my PC specs:

AMD 64 3700+ San Diego
DFI nForce4 ultra-D
Corsair 512MB 3200XL x2
Maxtor 200GB 7200rpm
XFX nvidia 6800u
Aspire AS500W
WinXP SP2

Note: 1)i have the latest drivers, both video and sound ones, including motherboard drivers.2)recently made a low-level format.

ok the problem is everytime i try to make a partition, after rebooting ..when it starts loading, the blue screen appears with the partition information and progress, the problem is it cant start, windows is loading without leting it finish.. the same thing happens when i try to make a chkdsk.

any ideas? thanks in advance and sorry for my english
