Okay, i've got a network set up directly between my laptop and my pc using a crossover ethernet cable. I can access the internet over the cable and everything generally seems fine.

Problem is, for some reason i can't access either of the different computer's drives over the network. I run \\computername\C$ and it says the network path was not found.

I also tried masking the drives and i get the same message - there can't be anything wrong with my laptop in that department as I have drives that are on my colleges network masked...

Help, anyone?

(i know this is simple, but i haven't ever networked anything in my life before)
