after entering the msconfig and following some instructions in PC Format my Dell Latitude D800 is now acting in safe mode although it is not on. can anyone please give advise on this as i am out of idaes. Thank you all.

In Windows XP 'msconfig', on the 'General' tab, make sure the option "Normal Startup" is enabled.

If this is no good, try System Restore and pick a date that precedes the changes you made.
