Dear Tekt, :whistling:

Welcome to the Geeks to Go forums.

We are currently studying your log.
*************************************

I notice that you have Spybot's TeaTimer running. While this is normally a wonderful tool to protect against hijackers, it can also interfere with HijackThis fixes. So please disable TeaTimer by doing the following:

1) Run Spybot-S&D
2) Go to the Mode menu, and make sure "Advanced Mode" is selected
3) On the left hand side, choose Tools -> Resident
4) Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts
5) Restart your computer.

You can re-enable TeaTimer once your system is clean.
*********************************

You are currently running HijackThis from your desktop. Since HijackThis makes backups of any entries you fix, you should create a folder just to hold the HijackThis program and its backups, so the backups and the program are not accidentally deleted. Go to "My Computer", click on c:\ and then go to the "File" menu, choose New -> Folder. Name the folder "HJT" or "HijackThis" and then please move the "HijackThis.exe" executable there.

Please restart your computer and then post a new HijackThis log. :help:

Dear Tekt, :whistling:

(Note: Please read through these instructions a couple of times before executing the steps in this post.)

You may want to print out these instructions or save them as a text file with "Notepad" to your desktop.
******************************

Your computer may have a CoolWebSearch Infection.
Please Download CoolWebShredder, Extract it and run the Program. Press the "Fix Button" Let it fix all variants.

Please restart your computer.
******************************

Please download AboutBuster.
  • Double click the AboutBuster folder, then double click the AboutBuster.exe inside.
  • Click "Extract all" in the box that pops up, then "Next"
  • Choose the location you would like to install AboutBuster, such as My Documents.
  • Make sure "Show extracted files" is checked, then click "Finish".
  • Reboot to safe mode by continually tapping the F8 key as the computer begins to boot.
  • Open AboutBuster and click the "Begin Removal" button. It will shut down all Explorer windows (if open) while it works.
  • It will begin to check your computer for malicious files. If it asks if you would like to do a second pass, allow it to do so.
  • When it has finished, click Save Log. Make sure you save it as I may need a copy of it later.
  • Reboot your computer into safe mode again
  • Run about:buster again following the same instructions as above, this time without the restart at the end
See the following link as a reference: http://www.besttechi...?showtopic=1488
*****************************

Restart your computer and then please post a new HijackThis log, along with the AboutBuster log.

In addition, let me know in detail how your computer system is running after performing the above steps.

Hey, fallowed the instuctions above. Seems like nothing has changed. My virus detector (AntiVir Guard) is still detecting ddaby.ddl and once in awhile a winspool.exe infection.

Here is the new log after these updates.

Dear Tekt, :whistling:

Did you happen to find that AboutBuster log?

If you can find it, please post the contents of the log in a reply to this post. Thanks.

Dear Tekt, :whistling:

I found two lines in your HijackThis log that are interesting, can you tell me in detail (if you know) what this software is?

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AutoProgService] "F:\Program Files\Maximizer\Campaign Manager\AutoProgService.exe" -runexe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AutoPrintService] "F:\Program Files\Maximizer\Campaign Manager\AutoPrintService.exe" -runexe

**********************************

(Note: Please read through these instructions a couple of times before executing the steps in this post.)

You may want to print out or make a copy of these instructions before starting, because you will not be able to connect to the internet during most of this fix.

Download smitRem.exe and save the file to your desktop.
Double click on the file to extract it to it's own folder on the desktop.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.
Open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen. Your desktop and icons will disappear and then reappear again --- this is normal.
Wait for the tool to complete and Disk Cleanup to finish --- this may take a while; please be patient.

Restart your computer in normal mode.
Please post a new HijackThis log as well as the log from the smitRem tool, which will be located at C:\smitfiles.txt.
Let us know if any problems persist.

Hey Rambro, I did the above and my computer seems to be running abit faster but still have the ddaby.ddl and winspool problems.

That Maximizer program is a databasing program. It all checks out.

Dear Tekt, :whistling:

(Note: Please read through these instructions a couple of times before executing the steps in this post.)

You may want to print out these instructions or save them as a text file with "Notepad" to your desktop.
******************************

(Note: Dear Tekt, the previous posts I sent you got rid of some of the spyware on you pc, however, I left some steps in here as a double check to see if it really did in fact get rid of the spyware in question. Please execute these steps carefully and fix the lines and delete the files and folders where it applies. Thanks.)
***********************

Click Start then Control Panel then Add and Remove Programs. Look for the following installed program/programs and if they are listed click on each one and then click on the Remove or Change button and if asked select "Yes" or "Ok" to remove:

Optional programs you can uninstall, through the Add/Remove program:

Uninstall the following program/programs through Add/Remove programs:

SpyHunter was initially considerered a "Rogue/Suspect Anti-Spyware" program. However, it has been "de-listed" as a "rogue" program, see the following link: http://www.spywarewa...re.htm#naw_note.

To play safe, please uninstall this software.

Uninstall the following program/programs through Add/Remove programs (if they exist):

SpyHunter

Restart your computer.
*******************************

Run HijackThis and click "Scan." Place checks next to the following entry/entries (if they exist):

I highly recommend you fix these items:

If you choose to remove SpyHunter, put a check next to the following entry as well:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SpyHunter] C:\Program Files\Enigma Software Group\SpyHunter\SpyHunter.exe

The following line represents a restriction placed on your Internet Explorer browser. If you or your system administrator has not put this restriction on your Intenet Explorer browser and/or this restriction was not set by a program like Spybot S+D or some other security program, then fix the following line.

O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present

This represenst the McAfee software, since you have the AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic antivirus software on your computer, you may want to fix this line.

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [McAfee.InstantUpdate.Monitor] "C:\Program Files\McAfee\McAfee Shared Components\Instant Updater\RuLaunch.exe" /STARTMONITOR

Close all browser and other windows except for HijackThis, and click "Fix Checked" button to finish the repair. Close the HijackThis application.

Next, make sure your PC is configured to show hidden files. Here is how to do this:

Windows XP

* Click "Start".
* Open "My Computer".
* Select the "Tools" menu and click "Folder Options".
* Select the "View" Tab.
* Under the "Hidden files and folders" heading select "Show hidden files and folders".
* Make sure "Hide extensions for known file types" is unchecked
* Uncheck the "Hide protected operating system files (recommended)" option.
* Click "Yes" to confirm.
* Click "OK".

Dear Tekt, :whistling:

(Note: Please read through these instructions a couple of times before executing the steps in this post.)

You may want to print out these instructions or save them as a text file with "Notepad" to your desktop.
******************************

You may have the Look2Me virus on your computer. I would like you to run Atri's Look2Me-Destroyer.exe fix to get rid of this Look2Me virus from your computer.

See the following link as a reference: http://www.atribune....ontent/view/28/.

Please download Look2Me-Destroyer.exe to your desktop.
  • Close all windows before continuing.
  • Double-click Look2Me-Destroyer.exe to run it.
  • Put a check next to Run this program as a task.
  • You will receive a message saying Look2Me-Destroyer will close and re-open in approximately 1 minute. Click OK
  • When Look2Me-Destroyer re-opens, click the Scan for L2M button, your desktop icons will disappear, this is normal.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove L2M button.
  • You will receive a Done Scanning message, click OK.
  • When completed, you will receive this message: Done removing infected files! Look2Me-Destroyer will now shutdown your computer, click OK.
  • Your computer will then shutdown.
  • Turn your computer back on.
  • Please post the contents of C:\Look2Me-Destroyer.txt and a new HiJackThis log.
In addition, let me know in detail how your computer system is running after performing the above steps.

Dear Tekt, :whistling:

(Note: Please read through these instructions a couple of times before executing the steps in this post.)

You may want to print out these instructions or save them as a text file with "Notepad" to your desktop.
******************************

See the following link as a reference: http://www.atribune....tent/view/24/1/

VundoFix.exe is a removal tool developed to remove Virtumonde infections. To use the tool follow the instrctions below.

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • When VundoFix re-opens, click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.

Restart your computer and post a new HijackThis log and post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt

In addition, let me know in detail how your computer system is running after performing the above steps.
