Uhh,, bump. My thread totally went to the next page of this forum without a reply (*sad*)

...

What else should I post? I've looked up info on svchost errors and most link to viruses, but I've run avast, spybot, adaware, and mcafee recently and It still comes up..

and the reboots are becoming more frequent.

Errr..wut?

web pages are fine :whistling:

i'm just getting reboots...

unless you have a reason to believe its network related O.O

errrr

should I follow your directions still?

edit: btw, 'bout 30 minutes followed friends' advice and turned automatic update to notification only, they say that sometimes it is a problem, hasnt restarted yet... and comp has been running (actively) for bout an hour now...

We shall see, eh?

Err... k I did it, (it was disabled, so set to manual > and started).

Wow, never been to that dialogue before! is there some PC tuning options there?

K... well, as I said, hasnt restarted YET

we shall see...

edit: OOHHHH hey! could it be, that this driver, instead of everytime restarting when there's an error, instead keeps the comp alive, and just gives an error message? that would be much better!

go start...click run....type in or if you know how to copy n paste .... %windir%/windowsupdate.log ..click ok

it should open up it will be a large folder but i just want the recent error numbers
so scroll down to the bottom of page and write them just stop errors

you dont have search from your start menu

we can try it this way

2006-09-13	18:18:26 892	984	Misc = Module: C:\WINDOWS\system32\wuaueng.dll

i ctrl+f'ed for "stop" and "error", but found nothing, this was the only think i saw relevant...

err...

do you want something else?

edit: OOHH and btw, I do "have" start, but i open it, and I dont get a search assistant orr a dialogue box to type in. just blank space.

This app has run 5 times over the past week :whistling:...

before I start windows, it runs default, I'm always too scared to disable it, but It's ran 5 times this week O.O so whatever it thinks its doing isnt working...

err, that is, it doesnt run on each start up, but... about 1/10 startups...

edit: oh, and I tried to defrag my disk yesterday, and it said run chkdsk, I ran chkdsk (realized it was the same thing thats been running every day for past week) , let it run, and I still cant defrag... it keeps saying run chkdsk, but I do, and it still says to do it O.O
