I am working on a large excel 2003 spreadsheet and accidentally combined words into a sentence in one column using find and replace tool since I wanted to get rid of beginning spaces! And then I hit save!!! Now all the words are combined and it will take me weeks to manually separate the words (there are over 4000 rows). ! The project is due in a few days and am not sure what to do. I have looked for tips on how to undo this dilemma but there doesn't seem to be any on the web. Please help!!!

seeing as the waiting room is a place specifically for posting if you have a thread ALREADY open and haven't gotten help for 3 days...and you don't match these criteria....you've posted this in the wrong spot....i'm gonna move this thread to the right place..

also...you've got two options

#1...do it the manual way and just go put the spaces

#2...if all of the cells are filled with rellatively the same information (i.e. they all start with the word "test") then you could do another replace and put "test" in what to look for and put "test " (notice the space) in the replace field...this would replace all instances of "testthisthing" with "test thisthing" then you would just need to continue on through the rest of the common words in the sheet..not quite the speediest thing but it's a little faster

I just noticed that in your example all words are capitalised.
If this is true of your data then you could check the match case option in the Excel find and replace dialogue.

The replace "A" with " A"
"B" with " B"
....
and finally "Z" with " Z"
