Wireless network with windows2000 and aol Advice with setting up.

My girlfriends mum has asked me to look at setting up their home network.

They have a Belkin ADSL2+ Modem with High-Speed Mode Wireless-G Router and the computer its going to be connected to runs windows 2000. They currently have AOL too. I have run through the installation instructions supplied, but nothing seems to work.

Can anybody offer any assistance?

Hi Ash,

Would you talk us through the things you have already done, please?

It'll give an idea of how the hardware you have is connected and what not to suggest!

So far all i've done is connect the router to the pc via ethernet, connected the dsl line, connected the power.

The router instructions then say to go into network connections and check the IP setup and then also go into internet options and uncheck any boxes in LAN options

Thats as far as i've got.

Also just remembered, when installing i get a message popping up asking about a security certificate and McAfee firewall network filter miniport.

All sorted now! McAfee was causing the problems!
