To start, let me be honest and tell you that you are not dealing with the brightest computer person but I can follow instructions... I often am getting a alert box in the middle of my screen saying "system busy", it will not allow me to click the close box so i click the "switch to" button. From there i get a "microsoft phishing filter" box in the middle of my screen. After closing that, either oinadserver of drivecleaner will open (usually oinad...) I have Mcafee, ad-aware, and am just recently trying out trojanhunter. HELP!!!

• Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
• At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
• Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
• Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
• Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
• DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

• Once you are on the Panda site click the Scan your PC button
• A new window will open...click the Check Now button
• Enter your Country
• Enter your State/Province
• Enter your e-mail address and click send
• Select either Home User or Company

• If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
• It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It may take a couple of minutes)
• When download is complete, click on My Computer to start the scan
• When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location. Post the contents of the ActiveScan report along with a new hijackthis log.

Ok... I deleted what you told me, did ATF cleaner, i dont have firefox or opera so i didnt do either of those and then i got stuck on panda. Once i got to the screen to place country, state, etc i was only able to see half the screen. i was still able to get to scan my comp and it did say malicious software was detected but i was not able to see the "see report" button or the save botton. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what i was doing wrong but it just wasnt there.

You know, I had that happen to me once...spent all that time scanning and couldnt get to that save report button The next time it was fine. Let me see the following please

Please download ComboFix and save it to your desktop.
Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When it's done running it will produce a log for you. Please post that log in your next reply.

Important Note - Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.

while doing this mcafee alerted me twice of suspicious content file c:\subs\enter.vbs
I figured it was combofix so i allowed it both times. Thought you should know.

I didnt see a save as text button but i think i have what you need. i didnt remove anything.
Also, is there anything i need to do/know so i dont get this infection again? ie: a site i should stay out of or a specific program i should be using?

Great, thats pretty clean. Heres a good article to read about getting infected So how did I get infected in the first place?

• Please double-click Killbox.exe to run it.
• Select:
  • Delete on Reboot
  • then Click on the All Files button.
• Please copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

  C:\TEMP\WinTaskAdInstPack.exe
  C:\WINNT\system32\oins.exe
  
  
  
  
• Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose Paste from Clipboard.
  
• Click the red-and-white Delete File button. Click Yes at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click OK at any PendingFileRenameOperations prompt (and please let me know if you receive this message!).

If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run Killbox, click here to download and run missingfilesetup.exe. Then try Killbox again.

We have a couple of last steps to perform and then you're all set.

let's clean your restore points and set a new one:

Reset and Re-enable your System Restore to remove infected files that have been backed up by Windows. The files in System Restore are protected to prevent any programs from changing those files. This is the only way to clean these files: (You will lose all previous restore points which are likely to be infected)1. Turn off System Restore.On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
2. Restart your computer.

3. Turn ON System Restore.On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Now that you are clean, to help protect your computer in the future I recommend that you get the 1 of each of the following free programs if you don't have them:

• SpywareBlaster to help prevent spyware from installing in the first place.
• SpywareGuard to catch and block spyware before it can execute.
• IESpy-Ad to block access to malicious websites so you cannot be redirected to them from an infected site or email.

You should also have a good firewall. Here are 3 free ones available for personal use:

• Sygate Personal Firewall
• Kerio Personal Firewall
• ZoneAlarm

and a good antivirus (these are also free for personal use):

• AVG Anti-Virus
• Avast Home Edition

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system and to keep them updated.

To keep your operating system up to date visit

monthly. And to keep your system clean run these free malware scanners

• AdAware SE Personal
• Spybot Search & Destroy

weekly, and be aware of what emails you open and websites you visit.
