computer freezing

i have windows 2000 and my computer keeps freezing and i dont know what to do. i have replaced the video card and the freezing quit and now its started again months later. i dont think its hardware this time, i suspect spyware. i have spybot and i run it everyday, it shows something called CallingHome.Biz. it apparantly has changed my registry and i dont know what to do, please help. if this is not the problem, please im up for suggestions! i also have a2 for malware removal which comes back clean.
