I hope someone out there can help me :-)

This is how my night went ...

Basically I accidentally downloaded a keygen that I *thought* was a keygen and it turned out to be a bad software. I discovered it was Smitfraud and I downloaded the fix and everything went better again.

Then after fixing ... I thought that I should have a good adware software to protect my computer. Without thinking I went to download one ... only to find out it wasn't an adware but rather a spyware even *WORSE* than the previous one I had just 30 minutes prior (by worse I mean its caused more damage).

I then downloaded Ewido right away and it detected about 500 bad files it had created ... then I deleted and quarantened them all (including outlook express' exe file). Basically what the new adware did was disable CTRL+ALT+DEL and kept on loading my Outlook and Limewire every 5 minutes. It also hid the windows/system32 folder and disabled the use of "cmd" from Start -> Run.

Once Ewido fixed those things and rebooted ... majority of the problems seemed to go away. I then installed Norton AntiVirus 2005 and got the latest files and did a full scan. It detected 4 small things but not much more ...

Now I am still getting the occasional strange popup ... one was to drivecleaner.com if that helps you?

When I try to run "cmd" from Start -> Run it tells me now "cmd is not a valid Win32 application" ... so I'm assuming some of my system32 files have been corrupted perhaps. Also my laptop's speed is feeling a bit slower.
