I Un-installed Norton anti-virus to install a newer version and when i uninstalled and rebooted, every one of my files ended with the extension .LNK
and now i can't start any programs anymore.

2. Log on to your computer with an administrator account or with an account that has administrator credentials.
3. Type the following command at a command prompt, and then press ENTER:
%systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe
4. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to restore your computer to an earlier state.
Look for the most recent system checkpoint created before the errors to restore from

well heres something for you to know
you dont have to uninstall norton to install a new version
the program will overwrite the other or older one youll probably ask if you want to overwrite you say yes
heres a tip when you uninstall a program like norton you dont say yes to all
click no or yes but not yes to all
thats how you lost you lnk file
i believed you were asked that
when you click remove
how can you get extension file back im looking in to it
you may have to reinstall service pack and get updates
