My computer's been running really slowly for a few days and I can't figure out why. It's especially strange because it's an Alienware Area-51 which isn't even two years old. All scans I've run have been negative (Norton, Ad-Aware, Spybot). Here is my HijackThis Log and thanks:

You can do this by putting a checkmark before the items and then click Fix checked.

Reboot when you are done and let me know if that helped.

Hi,
First of all, thanks for responding. However, is there any way that you could please tell me exactly what I'm removing from my registry before I go ahead with that (obviously, Alienwares are extremely costly and I just don't want to break it!)? Thanks a lot for your help.

What you will be removing are startups and some orphaned registry entries.

HijackThis wil make backups of these items, so if anything is not to your liking you can easily restore it.

I have to ask this: if you don't trust the advise you receive, why ask on a forum?

Regards,

Pieter

Hello! I'm sorry for jumping in here, but I sometimes can't resist poking my nose in. :whistling:
I understand your hesitation completely. Three years ago, I joined a forum simliar to this with a computer so crippled by Malware it barely worked. Pieter here is the person who cleaned me up. He also convinced me to join the free training program, to learn to help others. If it were not for him, I would not be where I am right now as an Administrator for GeeksToGo, and a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional. I would stake my entire reputation on the fact that you will not find anyone anywhere who can give you more solid advice than Metallica here can. Through the years, I've come to know him as not only a 'co worker', but as a very good friend. I've watched him work with users such as yourself, teach our trainees, and tear into new malware to make tools and fixes. You are in THE BEST hands you could ever possibly hope to be in...and that includes any "professional" you could pay to fix your machine.

If you ever need anything, please don't hesitate to send me a pm here on the site.
