I am trying to help my sister as her 11 year old niece got on her computer and did something, I think she added a search bar but not sure. She is deaf and hard to understand, bless her heart. Anyway, Trojans are popping up like flies. Plus virus's. I have gone in my sisters computer trying to help and since 5am this morning I have been working on it and I give up. I respectfully am turning this over to you if you would please except this. I am begging for help. She can connect to the internet just fine (cable) and her browser is Firefox. It has to be something the niece added cause she imediately came to my sister and said something is wrong.I also have "Pop-ups" are coming up everywhere. I just took a hijack log and will post it now. Please help. God Bless you all.

Hello there,
I am not an expert but will list a few ideas you can try first.
It`ll get you started in the right direction anyway.
By the sounds of things you have adaware, trojans, possibly malware and other crap coming in from possibly an e-mail link.
So firstly I would advise, if you haven`t already done so, is too download

Ad-aware at http://www.lavasoftu...ftware/adaware/

Spybot at http://www.safer-net...rg/en/download/

Spywre gaurd http://www.javacools...ywareguard.html

AVG free antivirus (If you do not have one already ) at http://www.grisoft.com/doc/40/lng/ww

you might want to try a reg cleaning program. Although I cannot sugest one too you. You need to search and make your own choice there. The one I use is no longer available for download I believe.

get Clean up at http://www.stevengould.org/

and try also windows washer (trial version if you do not want to buy it ) at http://www.webroot.c...s/windowwasher/

When you have downloaded these programs update their files.
Then run them one by one. I recommend disableing System restore during this process. If you have any nasties hiding there and it is enabled, then you will not get rid of the little blighters.

Once you have finished running all og these programs I recommend also disabling `messenger` within the System services panel under Control panel, tools. Not sure what your s will ook like. I am using a PC that is in Japanese. Bloody difficult considering I cannot read Japanese.
This messenger within the services panel is NOT MSN messenger. It is another service that home users do not really need. It also has been exploted by As$H$#&' out there and you recieve many mnay pop ups with this enabled. Usually saying that they are from microsoft and all other kinds of crap. Microsoft does not send out pop ups.

I advise you to Have a Anti Virus running at ALL times if you do not have one. With cable it is a neccessity.
Also keep Adaware around and Spyware gaurd. They will not hurt to keep around.

Thats all I have time for. Gotta go. Give it a try. It doesn`t sound too bad. I have seen and heard worse.

You will have much better luck if you post this on the malware forum. But first, read the information pinned to the top of the forum. It will clear out most of the bad stuff for you. Then post you HJT log for the admins to look at.

Good luck.
