[font=Garamond][color=#000099]Hello all! I'm having a serious problem with some popups on my computer right now. This is my first time posting a HijackThis log and asking for help, so I hope I'm doing everything the right way. I did visit the "Before You Post..." message and completed all of the steps there before finally posting this log: Cleanup, AdAware, CWShredder, SpyBot, ewido, AVG, online virus scap and finally Trojan Hunter. No luck - I thought it was gone, but it's not. If you need any other information, let me know. Until then, here's the log:

Hi kimberlyfaye

Welcome to GTG! :whistling:

Please do this:

* Download WinPFind
  • Right Click the Zip Folder and Select "Extract All"
  • Extract it somewhere you will remember like the Desktop
  • Dont do anything with it yet!

* Click here for info on how to boot to safe mode if you don't already know how.

Reboot into Safe Mode

Doubleclick WinPFind.exe
  • Click "Start Scan"
  • It will scan the entire System, so please be patient and let it complete.

Reboot back to Normal Mode!

  • Go to the WinPFind folder
  • Locate WinPFind.txt
  • Copy and paste WinPFind.txt in your next post here please.

Thank you for the suggestion. I've tried no less than 10 times to reboot my computer into safe mode and run the WinPFind program. Every time I run it, it starts the scan fine, but as soon as it gets to scanning "BOH" (I believe that's the acronym) it completely freezes. I read the warning when the program started that warned that the program might appear to not be responding, but give it time and it will complete. That's not the case in my situation. I've actually let it run all night long and when I wake up, it's still frozen in the exact same spot.

Is there anything else (short of wiping my hard drive) that I can do to try to get rid of this?

A side note - and I have no clue if it has anything to do with this spyware - lately when I'm running Internet Explorer I will get a message saying that Data Execution Prevention is going to close IE to protect my computer. I've never seen that message before this week and now I've seen it 3 times in two days. Any ideas?

Thanks again for any help you can provide!
