incoming connections subnet problem need help fast

i have two comp. both running xp.
i can dial into the one get connected but i can't see the rest of the network.
upon further review i found that instead of having a subnet of it was
there is a range set up to assign to the computer dialing in and that seams to be working fine.
the iprange is to
all the right are OK i just can't see the rest of the computer.
i tried to remake the connection but the same thing happed, even after a reboot.
any ideas
