cannot system restore

i have tried to restore to an earlier date and it keeps saying restoration failed, i have tried alot of different times but still the same response, also if i recently upgraded to norton 2007 and then to firewall 2005 but i needed to delete firewall to install norton 2007 cuz it kept saying to delete all previous symatec products so now i cant enter my renewal key into firewall cuz i dont have one so i was wonderin if i restore to get firewall back will it keep norton 2007?

You tried to delete or uninstall Norton? There is a difference. Why don't you have your product key? What exactly is the reason you want to restore? A restore will fail if there are no system monitored files to change.
