Some sort of spy/malware is block my norton!

Hi there, i have some sort of Spyware dis-abling my Norton AntiVirus when my PC starts up, I have checked the settings and they're OK, and it only disables, aFTER startup, as everything seems ok for the first few seconds. I did have an infection on the PC recently, but I thought I had amanged to clear it as most of the symptoms had cleared up, but apparently not, I have tried using using SpyBot S&D and even though it got some stuff, it hasn't gotten everything, Norton reports Nothing whatsoever, and my Webroot Spysweeper has ran out of subscription.

I have also tried AdAware without much luck.

If you will,please navigate to this Upload Site

Upload this file--> C:\WINDOWS\scvhost.exe

Be sure the spelling is exactly as above and its located in the Windows directory.



Please download the Killbox by Option^Explicit.

Note: In the event you already have Killbox, this is a new version that I need you to download.
  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Please double-click Killbox.exe to run it.
  • Please copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

    C:\WINDOWS\scvhost.exe

  • Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose Paste from Clipboard.
  • Select Delete on Reboot
  • then Click on the All Files button.
  • Click the red-and-white Delete File button. Click Yes at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click OK at any PendingFileRenameOperations prompt (and please let me know if you receive this message!).
If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run Killbox, click here to download and run missingfilesetup.exe. Then try Killbox again.


Restart Normal and Open HijackThis-> Click "Do a System Scan Only" and put a check by these but DO NOT hit the Fix Checked button yet

Now Make sure ALL WINDOWS and BROWSERS are CLOSED and hit the Fix Checked Button



Right Click the Desktop and Select New--> Folder--> Name it SysClean
  • Download the Sysclean Package to the folder you made.
  • Next,download the Virus Pattern Files (Official Pattern Release) to your desktop from Here
  • Right Click and Select Extract All to unzip the folder.
  • Now,from the unzipped folders,move the lpt$vpn.XXX file to the SysClean folder.
  • Restart in SAFE MODE(Tap F8 when restarting)
  • Open the SysClean Folder and doubleclick sysclean.com
  • Be sure Automatically clean or delete detected files is checked.
  • Click the Scan button to begin,please be patient,it will take a little bit to finish.
  • Once complete,verify the log from the scan (SYSCLEAN.LOG) is in the SysClean folder and restart back to Normal Mode.
  • Copy&Paste those results in the next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.
