What is good freeare for a format ?

I would like to use a freeare that will format or erase all data on my HDD. Knowing that Microsofts isn't the best i wanted somthing speciaficaly for it. I haven't reforamtted in a long time and have forgotton some of the names out there. I looked through the freeware sites and couldn't find what i wanted.

Darek's Boot and Nuke
This program completely erase all data on the drive(s)
you can download Boot and Nuke to run on floppy disk or cd and dvd
