Hi
can someone tell me if I need to change some setting or other as when I go to safe mode on my computer which has XP Pro with SP2? It is just a black screen with no Icons only Safe mode in the corners and Widows XP sevice pack 2 across the top.

Thanks

There are several versions of "safe mode" to choose from in the F8 startup menu. "safe mode with command prompt" will load a DOS emulator (black screen with white text). You probably selected this instead of just "Safe Mode" which should boot into Windows with a minimal set of drivers.

I had another go and it seems to be working fine now. I must have by mistake hit this instead of the normal safe made?

Thanks for your help muchly appeciated.
