Hi:
I uninstalled wmp11 through the registry.
in HKLM\software\Windows\Current version\uninstall
Also deleted all the windows media player and media player2 entries in the registry.
After this reinstalled WMP10 with XP CD.

now will not play files.
displays this message when trying to play files:

Windows Media Player encountered an unknown error. This can occur when another program or operating system component encounters a problem but does not communicate the nature of the problem to the Player.

I reinstalled, tried to cahnge options....

PLEASE HELP!!

Please follow these directions to roll back to media player 10

http://www.microsoft...sionofthePlayer

Because of the manual editing performed you may have to reinstall with the latest beta of mp11 to get this to work properly.
