When im playing big games on my pc , i turn on some extra case fans i have to keep everything cool, when im just browsing the internet i dont have them on because its considerably quiter. But i have to take of the side cover and connect the molex's (they've got 3 to 4 pin adapters) every time i want to turn the fans on. Is there a way i can hook up a switch of some sort so i can control their power status externally without fiddling with connections inside the pc?

Thanks
Sam

http://www.google.co...=fan controller
you want a fan controller...they have ones for the small cpu fan connectors and the regular molex connectors and all that...alot of them will have "knob" type controls for turning the fan speed up or down..and some will have individual switches for actually turning the fan all the way off...look for one with enough connections for the amount of fans you're wanting to run...and one that will fit in an empty bay in the computer

I used to use panels similar to this.

Nowadays i just drill holes in a blank 5.5 " bay cover and mount SP switches. I do have to do some wire soldering but i am used to that.
