Got this same BSOD again???? It seems to be happening more often while my computer is idle

The error you're getting now can cause most of the hanging problems. Atapi.sys is the controller driver for the IDE channels.

Let's see if it's loading a corrupt driver from the prefetch. If clearing the Prefetch folder doesn't get us the desired results, we'll look a replacing the file. I had a machine doing this one time and had to replace the file with an older version to resolve the problem.

Click Start, then Run, type prefetch and click "Ok". In the prefetch folder, click "Edit" on the toolbar and choose "Select All". Right click on a highlighted file and choose "Delete".

This will clear the prefetch...this folder will repopulate with fresh files when you restart the machine. It may take as many as 4 boots to fully populate so startup times may be slightly longer the first couple of times.

See if the error continues.
