I've been trying to download files from the internet but they don't show up in the folder after. I've cleaned out all of the temp files. ran a virus scan. reset internet explorer settings, checked download options(activex, etc.) ran spamware tests, don't know what else to do. Anybody got the same problem. Running Windows Media Center, BitDefender, Sunbelt Kerio.

Keith, thanks for the reply I did try to download from FileHippo nothing showed up in the folder. I also tried to run the program instead of saving. Nothing. I had Spybot installed but removed it because it took so long to download the updates. dial-up{sigh}. I don't think any of the settings that were on there could have caused this do you?

Well, I think I'm onto something. I deleted Windows Defender and voila I was able to download Everest, I had the CHOICE of run or save after download was complete. Installed Everest without a hitch. If I try to download something else to try and keep my computer healthy yell at me and tell me to STOP. Would you like me to scan my computer with Everest and email you the results? andrew
