Don't you normally do regular backups? You should. Just do backups like you normally do.

When the scan is finished, Save the results from the scan!

Note: You have to use Internet Explorer to do the online scan.

Post a new HiJackThis log along with the results from Kaspersky scan

How do you normally do backups? Unless you have an external hard drive, you'll have to back up to CDs or DVDs.

If you don't have a CD burner or an external HD, you don't have any good backup options. You'll need to look into getting a CD burner or external HD so you can start backing up your data if it is at all important to you, but for now you need to go ahead and get those updates. The fact is that 99% of the time installing the updates is not going to cause any problem that would result in any data loss. Go ahead and install the updates and post a new HJT log so we can get you cleaned up.

Start looking into getting what you need to back up your data and do it ASAP. If I may say so without being rude, the truth is that this is something you should have been doing long before now. Any serious pc user should have a regular practice of backing up their data no matter what. You never know when something like a hard drive failure may occur which will result in you losing everything.
