How to get the most out of my RAM

I just bought and put in my computer 512 Mb of ram...so now have 1 stick of 512 and a stick of 256....how can i make sure that i am getting the best performance out of it? anyway to adjust bios or anything? because im not realy sure if im getting everything out of it that i should be.

well i would suggest only two ways...

get rid of the 256Mb stick anf replace it with another stick of 512 its better to have equal amounts of RAM in your computer

or you could overclock your RAM and front side bus speeds but this depends on the rest of your system and how good you are with computers

what are the specs of your computer???
