Windows XP Gateway. Power on, shortly after see Windows XP screen, it goes to power save mode notification and then screen is blank. Tried the F8 key to either start in safe mode or go to last time it worked properly, with the same result. Have tried to reinstall Windows and at the point where the program indicates 25 minutes left, it goes to the same power save mode notice and blank screen. I thought I was attempting to repair Windows by using the Windows reinstall program. Looks like I ended up starting a hard drive reformat (done this on prior crashes with this PC), although I never got a warning that I was about to erase the contents of the hard drive. It just took me to the process of reinstalling Windows.

No. In the process of reformating, when it said I had 25 minutes remaining to complete the reformat (following about 15 minutes of the process taking place), it then went into the power save mode. Tried 2x. Same result each time.
