Can I do a repair install on xp home using a xp pro disc

Motherboard broke Hard drive wont boot in any other system and have files in a password protected user that i need to access. Was told a repair install was only option but cant get the repair option when i use a xp pro disc.

you cannot repair home with a pro disk...for all intents and purposes...in this scenario...they are differen't Operating systems...you'll need to get your hands on a home disk
