I'm stumped, something on my PC (running XP SP1) has control of my hosts file, and is constantly causing IE pop-ups. I've looked for and tried everything over the last couple of days. SPyBot, Ad-Aware (with the VX2 plugin), Microsoft AntiSpyware, Spy Doctor. The only thing they find is bad entries in my host file, but not what is causing it.

Here is my Hijack log:

I don't see anything in there that would be causing any issues, but I was hoping someone much smarter than I am could help.

Thanks in advance!

Hi rgh123 and welcome,
Sorry for the late reply,
If your still looking to resolve this issue, Need you to do a few things please,

First,
Create a folder on the C: drive called C:\HJT.
You can do this by going to My Computer (Windows key+e) then double click on C: then right click and select New then Folder and name it HJT.
Drag HJT into this new folder please,

Next,
Please Download LSPFix and Run the Program.
Disconnect from the Internet and close all Internet Explorer Windows.
Check the "I know what I'm doing" Button and remove all traces of dolsp.dll ( Nothing else)
Then Reboot.

Next,
You have the latest version of VX2. Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

http://www.atribune....oads/l2mfix.exe
http://www.downloads....org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Please post back a fresh HJT log as well please,

If you have resolved this issue please let us know,
Again sorry for the late reply,
Don
