Hello everyone,

My Compaq tc1000 had a serious system fault. Upon submitting the error report to Microsoft, I was informed Intel created a driver to fix the problem. I downloaded and installed the new driver for my Intel Pro/100 M network adapter. Since then, the sound now only comes to the left ear of my headset.

I tried various combinations of rolling back, uninstalling, and updating to current all drivers from the HP Support website, including the latest BIOS and XP Service Pack 2 supports. I even ran Registry Mechanic and cleaned the registry. Computer works great, but nothing returned the sound to both ears of the headset.

Can anyone help?

Thank you.
