:tazz: I'm having a couple of problems..... first, I cannot print any Excel file. I have a pop up that says it cannot print, asks if I want to report it to Mircosoft (which is something I had done about 30 times, and have since given up) and then regardless if I have saved my work or not, the whole application shuts down.

Second, I recieve PDF files through e-mail, and I try to open them, and they will not open. I have Adobe, and this is the software it should be using (as I understand) but its not. I was saving the file to my desktop and then opening it with Adobe, and that worked for a while, but now I am unable to save the files!

Third, but least important.... I'll be surfing around on the internet, and I'll come to a page (no specific page...there doesnt seem to be any rhyme or reason to this) and the browser will shut down........

I'm pretty computer literate, but I have exhausted my knowledge in trying to figure these things out.......

PLEASE HELP!

Open any Office application then press help then detect and repair, make sure there is a tick in restore my shortcuts

Which version of Adobe do you have?

Maybe it is linked to the virus thing but maybe you could uninstall Adobe then get a clean copy

Get the trial of TuneUp and run disc clean up then registry clean up then go to optimise to run reg defrag, takes a while then you need to reboot.

TuneUp Trial

Insert the XP CD and cancel when loaded then click start then run then type sfc /scannow then press enter, you get a blue progess bar which just goes off when it has checked and replaced missing system files.

If you have got a (long) while then click start then run then type chkdsk /f /r then press enter then type Y to confirm for next boot then reboot to check the disc, which could take an hour for it to get back to the desktop
