I am virtually computer illiterate, so bear with me.
My kids have gotton a cd stuck in the driver and now the door won't open up again, although it tries.
How do I get the door open wihtout prying it apart?
Thanks.

Well, depending on the configuration

It may take some work to find, and it may involve the removal of a faceplate, but there should be a small hole on the left side of the bottom of the drive. This hole, when a pin or something is pushed through it, manually forces open the drive. There is a small lever inside and when enough force is applied, it works.

If you can not find this, or if the drive still won't open after attempting this, I'd recommend that you consult a computer technician in your local area.

That was it, door opened, cd retrieved.
Thank you so very much for your help.
My kids think I can fix anything...little do they know.
I am now "Queen for the day."
