I came home the other day to a frozen computer and when i shut it off and turned it back on. it wouln't turn back on or reconnize the monitor or key board or anythng the light just comes on and that is it

I don't think the fans are working all i get is lights i haven't made any changes for about two months
and im not sure on the storms

Great Let's open it up, and turn it on. Don't touch, just watch. Are your fans spinning? Are there any beep sounds?

Ok. I'm actually logging off for the night, but for everyone else ( and for me to pick up again tomorrow) please record the beeps in text. For example, one long, two short beeps. Let us know what it is. Those beeps are codes, and long/short helps determine it.

One short beep generally means that the system is posting normally. First try reseating your RAM. Pull the modules out and put them back in.

If you still get the same result, and if you have more than 1 RAM stick, try removing one of them and turning the computer on with the other stick. If you get the same result, try it again with the other stick.

Bad feeling about this, disconnect the drives, test if motherboard is blown.

Yeah, if it's not the RAM, then the next logical options are the video card or mobo. Check all the connections to your video card and try testing it with another one if you have access to one. You would normally get a different series of beeps if it was a power supply problem.

If it's not the video card, then more than likely your motherboard is bad.
