usb port upgrade?

I have a panasonic toughbook with a 800 mhz 760 ram (what it reads for some reason) it has a 1.1 usb port. I was wondering if I could upgrade it to a 2.0 usb port and how I would go about doing so if it's possible. I'm not familar with the way a usb is set up and the difference between the two. Can anyoneone explain it to me?

Probably the easist method to upgrade is with a pcmcia usb2.0 adapter like the ones on this site at the bottom of the page.
