ERROR: Sound Initialization Failed.

When i go to launch an old game i used to play on my older computer, the splash screen comes up and i hear the usual sounds, after the splash screen the game kicks my out to the desktop and i get an error that says "ERROR: Sound Initialization Failed." and then crashes. I have tried re installing my sound card, i have updated to the most current DirectX and still no luck. Windows XP was not out when the game was made so could that be the problem? Any help wud be great ;-)

well i searched for a version thats compatible with windows xp but didnt get anywhere perhaps another reader may have a solution i was unsuccessful for my part

i got it working, i had to go in to the main executable and change the compatibility to 95 and now it works. Thanks for the help anyways :whistling:
