I've run all the suggested programs from this post http://www.geekstogo..._Log-t2852.html plus a few others I saw recommended in response to other's postings, but I'm still having issues. I know I had/have some malware issues...I had an error message and researched that (ultimately that's what led me here). It was some "umonitor" thing (http://www.computing...orum/14789.html).

I did get rid of some "huntbar" thing that NAV found but wouldn't delete. Other than that, things are supposedly clean, I guess. But my QuickLaunch icons disappear and somehow the box you check to show them has been unchecked. The PC is still painfully slow and locking up for a few seconds at a time with no reason to do so. Also, I occasionally get that pop-up about NAV being disabled, when it's not. And I still get some odd ad pop-ups in spite of the fact that I'm using Google Toolbar and MS' pop-up blocker.

One thing I wasn't sure on in the instructions: I already have SP2 installed on this machine, so I didn't know if I should delete it and go back to SP1a in order to cure everything. I was about to, but after a warning, decided not to and just proceeded as is.
