I have the same problem as frankvb:
I'm trying to wipe clean my old mac G4 so I can sell it and it hit an error that says
"could not restore the restricted-segment image"
I'm stuck here... and my old OS is not accessible anymore. What should I do???
I've run the diagnostics cd and that comes up with no problems.
please help...

boot from the cd or dvd disc, open up disk utility, then erase the harddrive clean, and then try the install again
