Defrag problems?

I am having a problem defraging due to this error message coming up! The Application or DLL c:\WINDOWS\system32\MFC42u.DLL is not a valid image. I have found a post on here for a cpu with a windows disk but widows is built into my cpu and I have no disk. Please help cpu is running slow and need to defrag. I may have a virus but not sure. :whistling:

have you tried running virus program or a adware software

did uninstall or remove any programs lately

that application may no longer be needed if you did

it maybe remnants of a old program try to run
