Hello,
This is my first post on a forum at Geeks to Go.
A couplle of days ago, as I was practicing my Italian using a tutorial on CD, using Videolan as the player, my DVD drive suddenly stopped responding. After I restarted the machine, Firefox started of its own accord and went to some website in Romania. Here is the shortcut. Go there at your own peril. I'm washing my hands.

~ URL under investigation - Metallica ~

I've spoken to a couple of people on a Firefox forum and one of them directed me to Geeks to Go.
He or she gave me a shortcut to a website where I downloaded a programme called HijackThis. I've used it to make a log of running processes on my laptop. He/she invited me to post the log here on Geeks to Go, so I've attached it here.

Many thanks for any comments on this log.

Best wishes

Guy

Please go to the malware forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE.

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
