I was on my PC trying to run this program while my computer started getting slow and I needed to shut down. But I couldn't get the start menu open so i pushed the restart button on the pc. Now when I boot up I get this:

SMART failure predicted on primary master (then a code that I'm not sure I should post here)
Immediately back-up your data and replace your hard disk drive.
A Failure may be imminent. Just to be safe I boot into safe mode and tried system restore. It didn't work. Now I REALLY NEED HELP! PLEASE!

It's telling you your hard drive is failing, back up data you can not afford to lose. (documents, email addresses, photos etc.)

Yup, the harddrive is jumping ship. Replace it as soon as you can as what braxton said, back up your data if possible.

But I'm able to post on safe mode. Why can't I boot into normal mode?

Not really. You are lucky to get the message in time to transfer your files. I lost a hard drive one time on an older PC of mine and it wasn't pretty. All those old school game records gone forever!

Just go to BestBuy and pick up a new one. You can get 120 GB for pretty cheap. I would also get an external hard drive just to put extra stuff on.
