I am having a strange problem the nature of which is as follows. Whenever, I leave my PC unattended for an extended period of time I have to reboot my system in order to obtain any response from Internet Explore or Outlook Express i.e. unless I reboot my unit I am unable to browse the internet and or access my e-mail accounts. Consequently, I am using this medium to ascertain what can be the cause of this problem and what do I need to do in order to resolve it as I find it very annoying. Any and all suggestions/advice will be greatly appreciated.

I used to have same annoying problem. It affected all internet-aware applications even though my router showed I was definitely connected.
Since changing to a different router (rather than the free one supplied by my ISP) and changing my network card , I no longer have that problem.
