Hi,

Last week I uninstalled MaCafee software in order to use AOL’s
Security Center. I had firewall and virus protection with them
and one of the programs wouldn’t uninstall because it was missing
a file. So I called them to help me with the uninstalled.

I tried installing AOL’s security center but the computer was still
freezing so I uninstalled their program. When I run my spyware
program the computer freezes. When I run a virus scan online my
computer freezes. It has also froze when I run my bookkeeping
program. The freezes do not occur right away. So right now I
have no virus scan protection on my computer.

My surge protector on off button is broken. I don’t know if
electrical surges might have to do with the computer freezing.
In task manager my cpu processes are 29 and cpu usage
is between 3 to 8 percent. Available memory is 309700.

My gut feeling is that it has to do with MaCafee. I had the
program on my computer for over two years and never had
a problem. So I don’t know if it’s the computer, a virus,
spyware, or the MaCafee uninstalled. The one time it
did let me run a virus scan it showed none. This was
performed last week before I uninstalled AOL’s Security
Center.

Can anyone give me other suggestions on how to look
for problems, thanks.
