Hey guys,
Is there soem software that lets me chnage the file icon for a particult file type. The mechnism inbuilt into XP is rather crappy.

Yes. Open My Computer, then the Tools menu, File Options, File Types tab. Scroll to the file type you want to change, highlight it and click the Advanced button at the botton of the screen. When that screen opens, click the Change Icon button. You'll be presented with a bunch of icons, or you can browse to your own custom icon.

I came across a little tool that you might want to look at when I was searching for something completely different it was called Iconphile.
